How to predict polarity?

You should have a reference table, no? That would be awful stupid to make you have to guess the electronegativity of something. If it's symmetrical, it's nonpolar. If it's asymmetrical, it's polar. Polar dissolves in water. If a solution is the same polarity as the solute, it can dissolve in that solvent.
