I found a 4 week old kitten outside of my work and decided to keep it. He has been to the vet for his de-worming but its to early for any vaccines just yet. What is wrong with my mom?

I'm 19. We live with my grandparents and my mom has been divorced since I was 4. He briefly for 5 years was really in my life but has become distant lately. my mon has always been very irresponsible. She also has these strange fits about stupid things like if I take 1 cigarette from her she knows I did and will complain about it for days. When I try to confront her about things with my therapist she has stormed out and won't admit to what she does with all of her money, it's gotten to the point where I've gotten so frustrated that I've yelled at her through her locked bedroom door and she threatened to jump out the window so I calked the police. She also will listen to her CDs in her room extremely loudly at innapropriate hours eg l. Early morning or late at night and sing very loudly over the music. I always get these nose bleeds where clear fluid drips out of my nose instead of blood. It is really similar to blood in taste and smell and I get frequent nose bleeds with blood also so I don't realize it's clear fluid until I notice the color. It typically happens out of only one nostril which I read is a symptom of CSF. They also are accompanied by headaches usually(another symptom). The last serious head injury I had was 2 years ago and I went to the hospital and was told I had nothing wrong with my head. That's the same year these clear nose bleeds started. I did ask my doctor about then once but she just gave me allergy meds. I'm also currently under close examination for schizophrenia and related issues. I hallucinate and such which I always assumed played into the blood nose bleeds. I have been to a bunch of doctors for the hallucinations lately and have had a CT Scan. Does anyone think it's possible that I have had CSF for 2 years without anyone noticing? Would a CT Scan have picked it up if I had? Could this be related to the hallucinations or could it really just be allergies? I'm only 16 if that helps.

Severe foot/ankle pain?

Back in April, I had an accident where I sliced open the top of my foot. I got stitches, and everything seemed okay. Within a few days of getting the stitches, the wound got infected with staph and it turned into cellulitis. Since then, I have been hospitalized twice for this and given antibiotics so often I'm likely immune to them all by now. The infection has cleared up, but here's the problem. Once the swelling goes down, it only stays that way for a week or so. I'm able to work without pain (I'm a chef) and things are great. Out of the blue, my ankle will begin to swell up on its own, with no new injury other than being on my feet at work. The doctors have done x-rays, MRI's, sonograms, and a few other things to determine what is wrong, but all tell me it is just in my head. I find this unnacceptable since my ankle looks like a grapefruit and is nearly impossible to walk on when it swells up. I should note that I do have flat feet, and have never really had much trouble with them until recently. Ever since April when the initial accident occurred, my ankle has had a mind of its own, swelling up and running its course for a week or more before I'm able to stand/walk pain-free. I have tried looking up different things to try pinpointing a cause but come up short. Any help with this would be great since it is really starting to get on my nerves.

My husband has tried everything, including building them a walk-in shower stall, with handle bars, but it has boxes stored in it. They won't use it. I get nauseated when I go over there, which is rare. The roaches are so bad, I had one fly right into my face one time, and my old mother in law just laughed. I think it is time for human services to get involved. I just don't know what would happen if a case worker visited. Would they take them out of their filthy environment? im in highschool just saying. so i went out with this guy for 6 months(his longest relationship by far) and i was happy most of the time and after we broke up i started noticing things. Dull complexion at age 20?

I smoked for a couple years a while back completely oblivious at the effect it was having on my skin specifically my face. Quit smoking and drank a lot of green tea ( I work for a green tea co, so easily 8-10 cups a day) the caffine in the tea ended up making me break out really bad, again, completely oblivious that it was the tea I thought it was stress or sugar. Finally figured it out and switched to caffine free... (Insult to injury, I first was worried about my lifeless skin, then moderate acne, now acne scars!) when acne cleared I went to the dermatologist and got a chemical peel to even the skin tone. Which helped a lot with skin tone and scaring, but I still feel that I'm quite pale... I exfoliate with a vitamin c scrub once a week, use a natural pomegrant softening toner, eye cream for my always tired looking eyes, and a vitamin c moisturzer with spf 30. I don't tan cuz I know how bad it is for skin and I feel like I'm basically doing everything right .. my sleeping schedule is pretty bad but I still get 7-8 hours of sleep and I eat healthy when I can ( not my choice my mom buys all the groceries so I don't have my pick of fresh veggies and fish) stopped taking hair skin and nail vitamins cuz I felt they weren't doing much. BTW, my skin tone is a really nice olive. I'm black Korean and white so its more of a tan light skinned black girl thing going on. My skin on the face just looks dull and lifeless no matter what I do and I know its from smoking, but I've been told that the skin has really amazing healing abilities, especially since I'm young. My brother and his girlfriend have 2 kids, a boy 14 months and a girl 2 months. My brother is 22 and his GF is 20. They all live with my mom, dad and sister. My brother is off at work from 7 in the morning sometimes for 12+ hours during peak season or till about 2-3pm during off season. His GF doesn't work n is home with the kids all day. She watches television while on facebook on her itouch and downloading music on the laptop. My nephew's crib is full of diapers, dirty clothes, toys, etc and she still lays him there to sleep. Their room floor is about the same. She undresses and just steps out of her shorts and underwear, one day my mom found that under a pile of the babies clothes. she feeds him undercooked food. She will be feeding him but is so concerned with her itouch that she holds the spoon of food out n my poor little nephew holds his mouth open but she just holds it out till she's finished looking through facebook. My mom seeing this has taken on almost all responsibility over my nephew. She feeds him, bathes him, changes him, to the point where he looks for her for everything he needs. The worst was today when she went to her mom's for most of the day and when she came back, my nephew had filthy clothes on, a sweater vest (its like 95 degrees here now) diaper completely puffy full of urine and he seemed to be in pain when taking a step. This is a boy who is constantly running around but when we tried to stand him up he would cry and cry. She insisted that he was just in a bad mood because he had just woken up. She feeds them whenever they get fussy, never has them on any type of schedule. My mom has expressed concern that she gives my nephew a lot of tylenol during the day so she can nap. I do see them giving him children's tylenol regularly. She believes this because when my nephew is upstairs with his mom he's usually asleep n very quiet. When mom brings him down with her after my brother leaves for work the baby will be up n screaming n just being a kid. She's tried to talk to my brother about it n like i said he just makes up excuses for his GF and gets upset that mom accuses her of any wrong doing. Once, they all got into a big argument and the girl said she was leaving to her mom's with the baby (one baby at that time). My brother just looked at my mom and said "see what you've done? now im going to lose my son" After today I was ready to call CPS but since mom lives in the same house, will cps remove the kids and place them with strangers in a foster home. I have heard terrible stories from places like that and im afraid. I would love to keep him myself but i work 12 hours a day- 6 days a week and he'd end up with a babysitter or my mom, again, in the same house as the mom. Lifting weights, top heavy?

I recently had a foot injury which willprevent me from doing leg workouts for a month or two (squats, deadlifts, etc..). 2-a-days are in a month and a half and i do not want to lose strength. Would it be wise to just lift upper body and get stronger? My Max for bench press is 220 and squat is like 275. My upperbody is very close to the same strength of my legs which i know is bad. But now with this injury, my legs will only get weaker. Should i continue upper body lifts. If so, will my speed suffer?

Cold, numb, sore foot?

So for the past two weeks or so I have had on and off pain in my right foot/ankle. Sometimes it is perfectly fine, other times the pain is unbearable and I am hopping. Is my finger jammed or broken?

Today, me and my friend were playing around and she jokingly tried to hit me with her flip-flop. My automatic instinct was to put my hand up, of course, but her shoe was made out of harder material and it bent my finger back pretty badly. It automatically started hurting really bad, and it swelled up and got kind of red. It was also itchy and felt hot. I couldn't move it much. That was a few hours ago, and the redness and itchiness went away, but my finger is still swollen and like, bent. It's kind of hard to explain; when I hold my hand normal, that one finger is in a bent position. It's still swollen, especially the bottom part. It also still has that warm feeling and is stiff. I can move it, but I can't hold it out straight, and when I try to bend it, it has this sort of "tight" feeling in the swollen area. It's not black or blue or anything, and it doesn't hurt as much as it did when it first happened. Magnetic field question.?

You have a neodynium magnet, a bit of a gap, and then a copper coil. If you pass another magnet of similar polarity through the gap, will the fixed magnet push the magnetic field of the moving magnet off into the copper coil? You don't need much physical evidence to figure something out when you have thinking skills and experience. On the other hand, even if he wanted to help, there probably wasn't much he could do, so I doubt that you "almost" got saved. Just realize that there are good people out there that care and want the best for others, but you are the one that is in control of your fate. People can only help so much. When I trained my puppies to go where I wanted them to go I used this spray stuff and it attracts the dogs to go there..it should be at a pet store. Put puppy pads in the crate..my dogs can't ever hold it when I put it in the cages for long periods of time while I am gone. They might have a class available at a doggie school close to you. but about the puppy pads they are really easy to clean up and get a smaller crate so the dog will be forced to go in the corner or else it won't be able to sit..and I'm sure that it doesn't enjoy sitting in it's own poop

What does my recurring paranoia mean?

As of recently I have been having problems getting to sleep because of extreme paranoia, and not like "oh if I go outside I'll get hit by a car and die, so I'll stay inside". Cello fingertip injury, please advise?

I have been playing cello for 11 or so years. Last fall I was practicing 2-3 hours a day when all of a sudden I got a sharp pain in my left first fingertip, similar to a pinprick. It has now been around 8 months and my finger still bothers me a bit when I try to play, although not nearly as much as it first did. Does anyone have any experience with something like this? If so, is it going to recover completely? And how long should I wait? I saw a hand doctor over the winter but he did not know much about instrument injuries and told me I had tweaked a nerve and just needed to wait a few months and it would be fine. Trying to get info about a knee injury i have?

I have a knee injury that has me confused. I am considering going to the doctor to have it looked it, but I want to make sure it is worth the trip (I hate going to the doctor for nothing). I play softball, and my knee only hurts minimally while I play. It's the next day that I experience a lot of pain. The day after a game, I have very limited flexibility in my knee. The pain is in my right knee, towards the outside of my leg. From what I have looked up, the pain seems to be in the general area of the lateral collateral ligament. I do not think it is an injury to the ligament, as I experienced no "pop", no swelling, no immediate trauma to the area. I have no issue bearing weight on the injured leg, but when it is in a bent position, I can not push off (i.e. climbing/descending the stairs). Some movements that most noticeable hurt seem to be when I try to remove my foot from my shoe, or when I try to lift my foot from the gas pedal to the brake while driving. Knee injury diagnosis help..?

I was at a tournament this past weekend and landed wrong in volleyball causing my knee to completely give out. I have not had any previous knee or ankle injuries before and am 16 years old. I cant walk on it because it feels like it will constantly give out on me. There is mild swelling at the top of my knee, but it isn't very painful. It is not sore if I poke my knee or apply pressure to it. I just feel a lot of pressure in my knee when I try to stand on it. I feel more pain if I straighten my knee all of the way or bend it more than slightly, yet that pain is still very mild. I am going to the doctor tomorrow, but any ideas on what could possibly be the problem?

Yes, unfortunately the water change probably did kill your fish. Always either age your water or use a water conditioner. I use "Prime." Also, goldfish prefer cold water. Where I live the tap water is almost 85 degrees at it's coldest, so if I were to change the majority of the water and replace it with water from the tap, I would have to do it very gradually and add ice to keep the temp the same. Injury reoccuring from ten months ago?

About ten months ago I hurt my knee, I think during breast stroke. I saw a doctor and physical therapist for four months to heal it, ultimately it felt better. I was told no breast stroke for a looong time. they never were sure exactly what was wrong because neither ordered an MRI. They said it could be mcl, meniscus, or plica, but that if pt helped I'd be fine. Well, a few days ago I accidentally kicked one breaststroke kick while trying to get back to the surface.Now, my knee hurts again in the exact same place! Could this be from the ONE breaststroke kick or just because I started swimming again? Please, any advice would be great!

After a soccer injury the top of my foot hurts?

I have been playing soccer on the weekends just to do something different in my routine. I'm 19 and played soccer through high school. But after the last two games I've come back with pain on the top of my left foot. In 7th grade i suffered a comminuted fracture on my fibula and a tibia fracture from sports but since my last surgery I've had no issues with this leg. But after the first game there was just a little bit of pain on the top of that foot but since last game it's taken a while for it to get back to normal. Why does it feel like my head's being poked when i touch this injury?

Ok, I was at my friend's house and long story short I hit my head really hard on a desk when I was going to stand up. I got this cut on the right side of my head in my hair.
