What does it mean when someone can't look at your self injury scars..?

its my moms friend, family friend, i love this guy! and in church, i wear short sleeves, but he never looks at them, he turns his head whenever he hands me something or he never talks about it. im 19.. is he angry? sad? annoyed? idk..help me out, i dont want him to feel uncomfortable if he is?
